    *warning* Rant ahead

Apparently $10 an hour cash is too little to motive what little choice we have for baby sitters….

And apparently no one is ever available anyways from babysitters to family…..

So the wife wins some tickets to James Taylor tonight at the X , but it appears there is no reasonable way for us to make it…

Can’t get a break what so ever.

All aside it’s a pretty minor issue in life, (so don’t get me wrong) lots of people dealing with more worse things and situations, but it really still sucks I feel we work so hard to be where we are, I’m having a hard time seeing any payoff at this point…. Frickin boat hasn’t been in the water for a month, been too busy and the days I had available were terrible.

Ahh wife just called she’s going to work late now too, lovely…..

Life can get crazy and frustrating and that is what makes the time on the water or with the wife much more appreciated.
    Hang in there

    I live in S Minneapolis –

    I can’t go anywhere now that I have a 17 month old.

    Nick –

Here is one for you – along the same lines. Life is getting too hectic these days. A guy can’t even take a moment and enjoy the spoils of his work.

Job has me all over the country. My boat needed the seals replaced and a new water pump. My wife wants me around all the time – helping with the little one – who is now officially a terror.

So, I am back in town this week and need to get it into the water to test, etc. before heading to Rainy for the week. I figure a quick spin over lunch will be just the ticket – and my wife won’t grind me for being out all evening.

Boat starts – runs perfect – excellent – time to get back to real life. Head back and put it on the trailer.

I guy walks up to me at the boat landing and rips into me about the Bass Season not opening up until this weekend and he should call the DNR on me for being out fishing. (I went for a 25 minute boat ride over my lunch hour!!!!!)

Thanks for poking your nose into my business!

I told the guy to mind his own business and that I was fishing for swordfish.

We ended up calling and telling them we can’t make it, and to give the tickets to someone else, checked to see if we could transfer them, but that was a no go, so we would’ve had to drive up there and get the tickets then deal with giving them to someone else, between the wife working and the tickets probably not being there until sometime after 5pm or so, it would’ve been a crazy mess… Hopefully the person who gets them really enjoys them, I’m a little mixed wither I think I’d really like the show but, I’m sure we’d enjoy it either way.

Figure at least they’ll get used if we called them and told them our situation.

    Great offer thanks dog

I always tell the wife she can take the night off and go have fun, but she really wants to have a nice date with her husband Her Mom is in rough shape with a couple broken wrist (she tripped) and some other health issues, she just isn’t up to it tonight but, I bet she’d like to get out of the physical therapy for a couple hours. We tried a lot of options in a short time, best off having the station give them away, and making someone else’s night.

Maybe I’ll make her a drink when she gets home, rub her back a little, see if my luck turns a bit….

I hear you on the little terror… Son is two in a month, daughter is 3.5 going on 13…. Luckily I got a super wife, and she knows I work long hours too, and wouldn’t flinch if I said I was going fishing.

Maybe you should drop your kid off here and we should go fishing

Should be start the IDO kid care swap forum, sub forum to the trip swap

Well least you guys are cheering me up a bit

    Timmy,

What you posted is probably what a bunch of people were thinking. However, it is probably for the best that you deleted it.

I think I speak for both Trumar and myself by saying that sounds like a GREAT idea… nothing worse than getting a chance to go fishing and noone available to sit with kids… OR maybe we could get Dean to start a daycare at Evert’s

let me see if i can help easy the pain, went through the same thing years ago. when our daughter was born i was making regular trips to poland for work.6 to 8 weeks at a crack.(our daughter was 3 weeks old when i left on the first trip and was 9 weeks old when i got back) this went on for about a year and a half. our son was born about that time and my wife went back to school.(she worked full time and went to scool evenings full time) i had become some what of a single parent. at the time it was tough, no me time and i thought it was the end of the world. fast forward to today. our daughter will finish collage in august and our son is graduating high school this year. now i golf every wedsday and fish every thursday, spend weekends with my wife and wonder were the time went. some day when the kids are all growed up you will wonder were the time went. just hang in there, it’s not for ever.

Nick, if it is any help I would see if our 17 year old wants to take on another set of kids, kids love her and she is great with them! She is in the area quite often too. I cannot make any guarantees on her availability but we hear nothing but great things from anyone she has sat for.

No kids, but we went though a dog with Addison’s desease that couldn’t be kenneled or find anyone we’d trust with her, no vacations for many years so I can understand the fustration.

Don’t feel bad on the $10 a hour, we tried to hire the neighbor kid (college kid) to do lawn work because he wanted money for the summer, said he wouldn’t work for less than $25 hour.

I bought a new self propelled mower..:)

(Trumars) Love the Evert’s daycare idea, only worry about the kids being manipulated to the darkside (catfish) and eating cookies all day long… (not really)

(Tom) Yeah subs make $10 AND pay taxes, let alone I’m not too far out of school to remember back how we behaved for subs…

(Slack)I know someday everything will smooth out and be easier and better, about 2 years (according to my current plans) things will lighten up a great bit for us, I know it’s part of our lives we work through to get to a nice place in the near future, but stilll UUUUUGHHHH.

(BBJ)We certainly interested in more babysitter options, if she’s game, I’ll pass along some info, I know in large part yesterday was a spurr of the moment thing that can be hard to fill eitherway. Our kids are generally very well behaved and have never had a problem with any sitter.

(AW) I also made sure our dog choice last November was a smaller breed so worse case, we can bring him with, Our Silky Terrior (Nemo) is only about 10#’s, and ok size for travel. (and musky fishing )

Kids these days. My neighborhood is crawling with them but I dont see any that mow lawns and in todays environment I cant really approach them to find out. As a result my lawn usually ends up being a hayfield when I go on vacation.

Thanks, that’s what we’re thinking maybe, we’ve have three English Springers and our last was a German Shorthair, we’re taking some time off after 25+ years of dogs and may consider a smaller dog, thanks.

    Little OT, sorry.
