My wife and I are heading to wisconsin to fish for the weekend. can anyone tell me if the non resident family license will cover BOTH my wife and I or if we each need to buy our own like we do here in Iowa? Ive never bought a Wisconsin license before and don’t understand how theirs works. Thanks for any help in advance!!

for non-residents, you can each buy a 4-day for $24/apiece, or a 15-day family (both of you) for $40.

HRGMay 20, 2010 at 12:58 pm #873332Thanks guys…thats what I thought it ment but i couldn’t find where it stated what constituted a “family”. It sure isn’t very well written. i was hoping all I had to pay was the $65 and it would cover both of us. WOW wisconsin don’t give there licenses away for free..talk about a steep price tag.
May 20, 2010 at 1:42 pm #873350When you buy a non res. fishing, bow and gun lisc. it adds up to about $370…………..its a little over kill I think!!

That is a funny statement coming from a guy from Iowa.
Ever look at an Iowa non-res whitetail license????? You are complaining about 65 dollars for a whole years worth of fishing for two???
Wow.

Yeah i hear ya timmy!! We try to keep our non resident hunters restricted to doctors and lawyers that can pay the price. truthfully though i agree with you. you out of state guys coming here to hunt are getting raped. i feel sorry for any out of stater coming here to hunt paying as much as they have to. its patheticMay 20, 2010 at 4:57 pm #873448Yea. Non-resident anything/anywhere sure is expensive. As a sportsman living on the border of MN/Wi and addicted to pheasants I know all too well.
May 20, 2010 at 5:06 pm #873453I’ve finally accepted you simply have to pay to play.
WI non res turkey = $65.00
SD non res deer = $195.00
SD non res pheasant = $114.00 for 10 days.timmyPosts: 1960May 20, 2010 at 5:08 pm #873455Quote:

Probably the truest (and most painful) quote in the whole thread! Iowa might be getting my pheasant license money this fall…..butI don’t have to like paying it.

May 20, 2010 at 5:51 pm #873479Its a bunch of crap! If you live with in like 50 miles of a bordering state you should be able to get a reduced non res. lisc.!!

sweet! if that were the case NE and SD would be cheap! Then my wife wouldn’t look at me funny when I pull out the WI and MN licenses, sucks living where the fishing stinks and have to travel to fish and be with the family. Travel may only be 8 miles, but I’m still in adifferent state!
May 20, 2010 at 7:42 pm #873515I too can’t think of anything I could spend $500.00 on and get more enjoyment out of. At least for more than a couple minutes anyway.

I get my money’s worth every time out, I am comforted at the thought that my clubs are older than my rods!
