I am considering purchasing a jetski, nothing hardcore but big enough for a couple of adults and or pull tubes or skiers.
Which brands/models does anyone recommend and which should I stay away from????

All of them.
Save your money and buy a boat if you dont have one
I am sorry I am no help … but as a fisherman I am not in favor of them
This is probably not a good site to get jetski advice on. I think most of us on here have had to deal with the inconsiderate, uneducated, dangerous, careless, intoxicated, drug induced, idiots that operate them. Buy a nice fishing boat!
Settle down guys. I already have a boat. The wife and kid want a ski to run around on a little recreactional lake. This particular lake already has so many skiers tubers that 1 more won’t make a difference. I also have dealt with bad jetskiers, just looking for someone who has experience owning one.
i dont own one but my neighbor has one and he lives right on the river across the street and he let me ride it last year and boy it was fun. i dont like them when im fishing but they are super fun and worth looking into.

Nice, glad you got that out of your system. I’ve dealt with far more idiot boat drivers than jet skiers.
X 2

i would rather see all them million air cruiser owners park their barge on the beach and drive there jet ski’s around instead of tow them around alot less wake…. its amazing how many rouge waves i deal with on the river because of those cruisers and same for some of you metro guys too im sure.
P.S. dont go small with your ski go big alot better ride and more stability
x2

i’ve ran into more jetskier problems than what its worth. but is riden reponsibly I would go with a bigger machine for stability and safety. Seadoo has a new one with water braking system.
Wishin, without a doubt look into the Honda fourstrokes. My parents bought one for thier cabin and it is one nice quiet, fast, sleek looking machine. Let us know what you go with.
Thanks, Copper not sure if I am going to pull the trigger or not, I will let you know if I do. Everyone can be assured the keys will be pulled if it is used to disturb anyone …………. kid or WIFE!
Stick with the Kawasaki’s or Yamaha’s. If you buy used. Have the pump checked before you buy it to make sure it is good, they can get spendy to replace also do a comp test on motor, watercraft are subject too injesting water alot. I have worked on them for years and they are a money pit if not cared for.
As I love long range shooting and a good challenge. I’ve always felt I could shoot the operator off their jet ski as they buzz around in front of my cabin. They are about as irritating as a mosquito in your ear.
Don’t contribute to the problem.
Get ready to buy lots of gas. It nothing to go through 100+ dollars a day. I would recommend any of the four-strokes. Another option would be rent one for the weekend an see how you like it. I dont have one and would never buy one, but I would rent one again. It is alot of fun.

I hate them, and the people who drive them.

Don’t hold back now, tell us how you really feel
WOW you guys are brutal. I was actually going to buy one to buzz the natives as they are netting……….. Now which ones should I look at
i
I did some research on them last year and was told to make sure you get a 4-stroke. There are many 2-strokes still available but the majority of them now are fours. The HP they have is awesome and the 4’s are quieter and better on gas.
I don’t have a brand preference but watch out for people dumping their used 2’s at attractive rates.
Eric
go with a Yamaha 4 stroke and never look back. I have a FX HO and love it!
I fish from shore, and it isn’t not all jetskis that are not courteous and it is not all boaters that are. Use a little courtesy and I dont think you will go wrong. Jerry
