Boat Porpoising, What best solution or product?

I have an 18″ express with a 130 on it and as i am trying to trim it out at top end it wants to porpoise. I know if I move some of the batteries to the front or other weighted items this will help, but after trying that what product would you recommend? I have had the fins on other motors, (smaller ones) in the past and it seemed to work OK.
Any thoughts on what the best idea might be?
    Thanks
PS did I spell porpoise correctly??

Maybe it has something to do with you having an 18 inch boat with 130 horses on it. How do you fit in there?

I had a porpoise boat long ago and my only working solution was extra bow weight.

Stonehenge! (Bonus points for anyone who catches the obscure cultural reference)

Have you tried trimming the motor down more? If I trim my motor up too much the bow starts to bounce. I also have a 24 series trolling motor battery up in the bow compartment which probably helps the weight distribution too.

18″ instead of 18′ is from spinal tap. Awesome movie.

I have been in boats with the fins that wrap around the transom and they seem to work.

We put a fin on a 175 merc. for our old 18 foot ski boat many years back. Baja style. Worked amazingly well!!! Very cheap fix and you won’t be disappointed!!

Yup, try trimming it in/down and see if that helps. If not, another solution to try would be a hydrofoil. Personally, I like the SE300 series over the Stingrays.

Hydrofoil did the trick on my boat when I upgraded the motor and had the same thing!

You might need to raise the motor a position on the transom. It has helped on my boats.

Do you see any speed increase or decrease when it porpoises? When my boat porpoises it actually is going SLOWER. I just trim it down a touch and it speeds up, stops bouncing and is easier on the RPM’s. I would check that out otherwise maybe a prop change?

I had the same problem with a tin boat I had. What we did was put some wedges on the bottom where the transom meets the bottom and that will force the front end down. If you run your band across the bottom of most glass bassboats there is what they call a hook manufactured in to the glass. If you want more info PM me and i’ll try explaining it better.
