Rainy Lake House Boat, Mille Lacs Launch, Pick a resortin Hayward that rents Pontoons. Those are the things I’ve done. Behaved at every one of them too . Best idea is to rent a few cabins from Dean at Everts and keep him up all night with hootin and hollerin until he offers you some boat launch money to run up to the Border Lounge!
May 13, 2010 at 5:06 am #871645All good suggestions so far but a Rainy Lake Houseboat would get my vote if you had the budget to work with. Imagine a hot tub, massive top deck and cruising Rainy Lake, fishing during the day, grillin’ and partying at night…. and a slide. Actually, scratch the slide. Someone would get killed if you guys carry on like my friends do in this type of situation.

May 13, 2010 at 5:44 am #871649I think James suggestion would be unreal, but if you don’t have those kind of funds I’d recommend a launch trip on Mille Lacs. Of course after the fishing you’ll have to hit the Blue Goose bar. This is what I did for my bachelor party and it was a blast! From what I remember that is
May 13, 2010 at 10:39 am #871654“On The Border” 10741 S. 27th st. (old hwy 41) Franklin, Wis. 53132 phone: 414-761-6440 ask for Jerry or Danny, very classy, with beautiful women…
May 13, 2010 at 10:57 am #871658we did Mille Lacs for mine last year. got the house at Twin Pines, went golfing during the day, and a launch trip at night. it was a bachelor/bachelorette party though, so i don’t know if i would have done anything different if it was just the guys.
i also pulled my boat up, and when everyone went home sunday, i stayed and fished all day.

We see a lot of Bachelor parties on Rainy Lake Houseboats throughout the summer. Would certainly make for a great weekend, and with a group or 2 of guys isn’t really that expensive per person considering the the trip you’d have. Oh…….And the fishing would be clearly be a bonus!!
May 13, 2010 at 12:09 pm #871672We used to do a planes, trains and automobiles trip. You fly to Chicago, catch a baseball game at Wrigley, take the 1 hour train ride up to Milwaukee and watch a ball game there and then drive home (someone would meet us who didnt do the Chicago leg).
2 great, fun cities, 2 great days.
May 13, 2010 at 12:49 pm #871679If everyone is a hard core fisherman, Rainy would be a great trip. That is not the norm for a group of 15 though. Some just don’t get into it that much. They are looking for bars instead of bass.
I am going on a second Mississippi river houseboat trip this summer. You can leave out of the cities, Alma, or La Crosse. Bars in every town. Can dock in towns or hit a sandbar and get a bonfire going. Pull a boat for those that want to fish. Good times…good times!!
Our last run we went from Wabasha to Red Wing and back again. Brought a smile to my face just thinking about it…
Have fun!!!
wormdunkerPosts: 596May 13, 2010 at 2:38 pm #871714I may not have an idea for you but I have a story. About 14 years ago I was invited to a bachelor party that took place on a Mille Lacs Launch. As we fished, a Bayliner cabin cruiser pulled up to the boat and out pops a guy and 2 girls. They pulled to within about 50 yards and the next thing you know they were propositioning everyone on the boat. That is right – hookers! We said thanks but no thanks and they took off across the lake. We were stunned.
May 13, 2010 at 2:52 pm #871718I’ve had 3 at Mille lacs in the last few years. Fished out of our own boats for a few days then did a Saturday night launch trip. Rented a cabin 1 year and some ice shacks for the last one, not really important were you crash, close to a bar is a good idea so no one has to drive. I think I may have some permanent damage from my bro Saugers 4 day adventure
May 13, 2010 at 4:35 pm #871752If your budget isn’t very high…
We’ve done some trap shooting,, fishing days,, four wheeling,, etc. All ending up with a good ol’ BUS Trip at the end. Touring the bars via bus is SAFE, cheap and can be a lot of fun. Well as safe as you want them to be,, at least nobody is driving! Just make sure you can house the bros for the night at the final destination
