What did you get your wife for mothers day? We need a new lawn mower so I thought that would be a great gift , But I should have a good back up if that doesn’t go over so well. Flowers are always good but material things are better. Just wanted to see what everyone else was doing for some ideas?

Nothing, she’s not my Mom the kids have to take care of that themselves. I used to make sure that they did their duty when they were little. I actually know guys that won’t go fishing because of this “hallmark holiday”. Don’t get me wrong I loved my mom, so as far as I am concerned every day should be mothers day.

Since my son is 7 months old “he” got a I tunes gift card and a card and I got her a card.

My Mom goes fishing with me and gets a crappie dinner every year. She looks forward to that every year.

Our 1st mothers day , almost 25 years ago, I bought her a Berkeley casting rod. It didn’t go over that well. I still have and use the pole but am planning on buying her flowers and making her breakfast on Mothers Day. She will be much more receptive to that.

I’m planning to give her in-home professional housekeeping (maid) service tailored to what bugs us most, laundry.

I’ve got several potential candidates lined up through a company called care.com. She works too hard to then have to come home and keep this place looking decent, plus wash, dry, and fold clothes for four.

Although I have other plans for her already I tried telling her that I was going to buy her her own walleye rod for Mother’s Day so she didn’t have to use mine anymore. The look I got was pure evil

    Thanks for the idea wally1992…

I did the same thing as cougar, I got us a house cleaner to help keep the place looking nice, she has to try to keep it up after four of us, and according to her, we are all kids. I also am paying for her plane ticket to vegas when she goes out there with her girlfriend and getting away from us 4 kids. she might come home to find it burnt down or something. ha ha ha!!! she also got left with the kids today while I went and fished a tourney over in WI, she made out like a bandit.
