I have had great luck with Interstate batteries and they wont break the bank. I bought a Interstate SRM27 for my dad for fathers day in 2003 and its still going strong.

I like Interstate Batteries too. Like mentioned, they won’t break the bank. No pun intended.

Get yourself an on-board charger and plug it in after every trip until you go again. No reason you won’t get at least 5 seasons out of that battery.

The type of battery or brand name does not determine the life of the battery, its the care for the battery after use and how its maintained in the off season. Very similiar to flasher batteries in the winter. If they are charge properly during the season and off season, fluids are checked they can last you upwards of 5 or 6 years. If you don’t maintain the battery you will be lucky to get 2 seasons out of it….Installing an on board charger or access to a good charger after each use is just as important as the battery itself. I suggest giving dean a call as well…..

The group 29 will give you the longest trolling time. It will cost a bit more but it will be worth it.

If you have the extra $ get a bank charger for the battery or all batteries on your boat. The bank charger will keep them full and maintain them which will increase the battery life. Good Luck!
