    1/16th ounce jig and a 3 inch gulp minnow smelt color. If not that then its a hook sinker and a crawler. I try everything until i find what works. And the gulp is working so far on the lakes i fish. And the plain ol crawler hook and sinker cleaned up on the eyes on a smaller river for me today.

    Water temp and weed growth dictates presentation. But, I’m doing well on the following:
    Husky Jerks
    Shad Raps
    Elect. Blue/Pearl Ringworms
    Icicle Ringworms w/ spike-it
    3″ Mullets

    On the Winnebago system it is hard to beat a jig and minnow early but remember there is no closed walleye season here.

    At this time of year we are switching to jigs and leeches or crawlers. I also anchor (what a surprise) and use slip bobbers.

    A slip bobber allows me greater control…

    …of the beer in my hand.

    It is actually a toss up between Lindy rigging on the bottom and a slip bobber. Jigging is a distant 3rd, unless someone incidentally catches a bass.

    IDO, as will be home with the kids and also playing in a softball benefit tournament for my step son that whole weekend.

    That’s gotta hurt! Problem is there broncs IDO will be pretty quiet that weekend. But I’m sure you will find things to do around the house.
