Fish Fair is a fishing carnival for kids and families. Participants of all ages fish for trout, race minnows, make lures, practice casting and are educated about all aspects of fishing in our great state. Activities provide education about habitat awareness, fishing tackle, techniques, species identification and fishing opportunities with clubs and camps present at the fair.

There’s lots to do for everyone, regardless of age!

Print off the coupon displayed here and bring it to the Fish Fair and you’ll receive a FREE Frabill “Kool Keeper” minnow bucket (while supplies last)!

Do you know if the trout ponds are handled by the Cenaiko folks? I’ve always wondered where they actually do their portable fishing ponds… I’ve never seen them running in real life anywhere.

Looking for a great deal on used fishing equipment or have some old equipment you’d like to sell?

This year Fish Fair will launch the SPORTSMANS’S GARAGE SALE during the fair. We are currently accepting donations of sporting equipment to sell during this event or offering table space to individuals who may enjoy cleaning out their garage while supporting Fishing For Life.

Please contact [email protected] if you would like to make a donation or have further questions about how to participate in the SPORTSMAN”S GARAGE SALE.

Fishingforlife.org owns their own trout pond and it makes the rounds to many events in the Upper Midwest. Last weekend the trout pond was at the Thorne Bros Grand Opening event where the kids couldn’t get enough time at the rail catching trout! If you’ve got kids this is a great way to get them excited about fishing.

Here’s another great Fishingforlife.org summer activity for the kids.

What’s the Fish-A-Thon? The Fish-A-Thon is a pretty cool way for kids to help inner city charities raise money while earning prizes for themselves. We’ve all done a Walk-A-Thon… the Fish-A-Thon works the same way except instead of wearing out a pair of sneakers the kids hit the lakes and rivers and sponsors pledge a donation for every fish they catch. The kids spend time on the water and can earn some great prizes and the charities receive much needed support.

Check out this video for more information on the Fish-A-Thon.

If you want to get your child involved in the Fish-A-Thon be sure to stop by the Fish Fair at the Anoka County Fair Grounds May 7 & 8 to pick up a pledge kit.

Have a boat, camper or RV you need to sell?

    Boat/ATV/Camper/RV Auction

Fishing for Life will hold an auction on May 7-8 at the Anoka County Fairgrounds in conjunction with Fish Fair. We are taking donations of used equipment or choose to sell your item through our venue. We are also hosting Fish Fair and a giant Sportsman’s Garage Sale — all donations welcome. Consignment options are also available for boats, RVs, ATVs, and large quantities of gear.

To make arrangements for your donation or if you would like to sell your equipment, please email Tom Goodrich at [email protected] or call 612-987-5466. Clean out your garage and help out a great organization in the process!

How was this event? I had a busy weekend with relatives in town and missed it.
