I went out this afternoon to a patch of woods that’s a few trails mixed into a massive tangle of live and dead trees. I found a bunch of tree ears, or oyster ‘shrooms, but no morels. 
It’s really sandy soil, and not too wet, even though it’s a peninsula on a local lake.
