Hey guys and gals, I am looking at putting a new prop on my kicker motor for my boat. I have a 9.9 Yamaha 4 stroke. I believe it is a 2003/2004. Not sure if that makes a difference or not. I currently have a 3 blade prop on it but I want to get a 4-blade prop so I can get the kicker running super SSSSLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOWWW. Anyone able to help me out here or able to point me in the right direction if they have such a prop for this motor and such
    Thanks

Interesting, thanks for the link. I’ve got a Nissan 8hp motor that I use for my kicker, and I wonder what pitch prop that thing has on it. Might have to look when I get home.
Would be nice to get a flatter prop to slow it down.

I just bought a 7 pitch for my Honda, it’s a high thrust sailboat prop, hopefully will be trying it out in a couple days. The other thing to try is putting out a drift sock or 2. Or use 5 gallon buckets, I know a couple that do this as well. He has it figured out how much a bucket slows his boat down so some times he will put out 2 or 3 to get just the right speed.

I have two Solas props for my T8 kicker. A slow pitched four blade (7* I think) for slow and low walleye and a high pitched (9* I think)three blade for faster pike trolling. I was actually so impressed with the Solas props I bought a four blade for my 115 and when wore out or dinged I just buy another they are so reasonable.

I use to put out two 5 gallon buckets before I got a kicker and it worked great but with a 9.9 kicker you should not need to go with the buckets. I would think that the 4 blade prop would do the trick, the one disadvantage with the buckets is you will go through more gas. Trolling all day with the 5 gallon buckets I could easily go through a tank of gas no problem, with my Yamaha T8 I can troll all day and never see the gas needle move.

They run on gas? I though it was majic as I have yet to notice my fuel needle move either.
