electric wood splitters

been trying to find some reviews on electric splitters in the 5-7 ton range we dont burn a lot maybe 3-4 pickup loads a year in our fireplace but my back and arms are telling me to find another way, looking for an economical alternative to shelling out the bucks for a gas splitter so just wondering if anyone has ever used an electric one, really dont split anything big, mainly oak pieces under 24 inches in length and around 12 in or so in dia.

I have never used an electric one but found this review… hope it helps you out some.

For how little you do, renting one may be an option you want to consider. Another option my be to make a deal with someone who has one. A neighbor to my farm helps with skidding logs, cutting and splitting plus supplies all the gas. We split the wood 50/50 even though I supply the logs. Just an idea.

Not sure of the rental fee, but I’d check into Randy’s idea. 3 or 4 truck loads can be split in a day if you have everything else in order and a couple of bodies to help.
