You just have to find the one that has all the specific features and layout that you are looking for.

There’s a lot to be said for that statement right there. You need to find what interests you most and try that one.

I personally have owned all 3, technically. I think they are all very well made boats and can take whatever you throw at them. I’m on my 3rd Crestliner, which is a 182TS, and I love it. It’s been my favorite floor layout of all my boats. My 1850 FishHawk wasn’t bad either.

I don’t know that I would be scared off by Merc motors. I had em from 01 to last year, and now I run a Yamaha. Can’t say much bad about either one.

Of course, this all depends on if you’re buying brand new or used, as well. There are a lot of new features and improvements in both motors and boats in the last 5 years alone.

As for Lund, don’t feel that you are stuck getting into a Pro V either. I’ve seen an increase in the number of Mr Pikes and Explorers fishing the walleye trails around here too.

Hope you find what you’re looking for.

for those that think you have to put a Merc on a Lund from a dealer you’re misinformed…..I know of several people including myself who bought new Lunds and had the dealer put Yamaha on them. If your dealer says it’s the only way he can sell the boat, he’s lying just keep shopping, many will set the new rig up any way you want it, and that’s how your purchase should be, set up for you and with you in mind.
