Is it one or all of them?

I’ve used the poll feature to protect the innocent.

Do all favorite wives or girl friends try to make 8 foot extension cords reach 8.5 feet?

Just wondering if it’s just one special FW or if they all come this way.

I’ve had the opposite happen, my FD (favorite daughter) uses a 100′ cord to reach 3′.

My FD’s don’t understand the biggest to the littlest concept. They plug the (5) 25′ 16awg cords together and to the outlet, string them out in the yard, then plug the 100′ 10awg cord into the little ones, then the weedwacker. Wonder why the cord next to the outlet gets warms?

My FW will sieze the opportunity to go buy another 10 foot extension cord at Target. Instead of buying the $5.00 one, she’ll buy the $15.00 one. Then she’ll find another $100.00 worth of other things we don’t need. So the 10 foot extension cord will end up costing us $115.00. I find it easier and cheaper just to move the outlets. I can do it without even turning off the breaker.

I never said my favorite girls have done this!

Anyone know where there’s a sale on replacement extension cord ends?

My Bride of 30 years has the opposite problem. Give her any yard trimmer and she makes quick work out of a 100 footer into 2/50 footers. Fix them and the next thing you know its 4/25 footers.
So if any one needs some 25 foot cords let me know I have plenty after 30 years. But you still gotta love em even though?

I don’t need any 25 footers, but if you have any 12.5 footers I might be interested.

as a kid, my Dad worked for Sunbeam Appliance company in Chicago, which meant EVERYTHING we owned used an extension cord, including the lawn mower and snowblower. Got pretty good at splicing cords back together!

Don’t even get me started on the FW and tools in general. There is a tool for every job (just like fishing poles ) and she doesn’t know how to use any of them

That is a flat out lie. My wife does great using my tools. Nice sharp wood chisle for prying open paint cans, my expensive dovetail saw for cutting tree limbs

I am known for putting 10 lbs. of stuff in a 5 lb. package. So, what is the proiblem with stretching a cord a little extra bit?

I’ve been waiting all day for one of the I-d-o Ladies to jump in there…

    Nothing, absolutly nothing!

My husband is the one who has “extension cord problems” at our house. Just this past winter he:
    1. Ran over one with the snow blower and chewed it all up.
    2. Ripped one out of the outside outlet when he forgot to unplug it BEFORE leaving the driveway and then, proceeded to run over it again which unplugged it from his car-where it sat in the road all day… AND
    3. Pulled another cord out of the outside outlet (again-BEFORE leaving the driveway) and drug it down the road for about 5 miles before someone let him know.

PS If you ever see us on the river, don’t mention this.

    rochelle,

for a small fee, i think we can all keep quiet. Just make sure payments are sent before May 1st (I need a little extra for bait on opening day here in WI).

As for the rest of the posts– My wife took enough of my tools so I gave her a tool box filled with her own tools and she now leaves my stuff alone.

Ok, she’ll still go out to the garage once in a while to steal somethin here or there, but for the most part, she’ll leave my tools alone.

oh, and she is guilty of the extension cord thing too. I am down to one that i just bought yesterday. (shhhhh)

Thanks for the pic of an organized neat garage. Now I can feel bad about not cleaning the garage on top of the dozens of other things I’m not taking care of right now…..

    +1…

I’ve done or at least attempted to do ALL of the above moves and them some. I often had 3 prongers running into 2 prongers!
Anything to get the job done back in the day..
