Its been a long time. Hello to everyone! We are now based in Singapore. Have not been fishing much over here last few years. But recently took a trip to Bangkok where we went to a lake to catch giant catfish – we basically caught Mekong Catfish and Patin, I think. Huge heavy fishes that estimated to weigh on the average between 40-70 lbs. We caught like 20 + fishes between the 2 of us from 9 to 5. The guide used up a sack of feed baiting the fish. Its load of fun. Only problem is the weather which is hot, hot, hot and humid. But thank goodness there were fish bungalows which provided shade and a fan which just made it bearable. The video is found here – hope you guys enjoy it.

Nice fish, I might be heading out that way to work for three-four months next year. Maybe we can “hook” up and catch some fish together

Ahhhhhhh….Thailand….Spent a month there while in the Marines near Pattaya Beach on a joint exercise with the Thai Marines. HOT is an understatement, but lots of good times!

Sure, give me a shout. I had a good guide. Just remember to leave all your ice-fishing and cold weather gear in Wisconsin. U are looking more like wearing shorts, T shirts, even singlets in this place.

That looks like Bungsamlan to me. I’ve been there many times. It is probably the best Mekong Cat factory around but their prices keep going up. There are some giant Siamese Carp there too. It is a very cool place because you can catch fish that are endangered in the wild there.

You are most welcome, guys! Its been a long time since I visited the site and I thought that this would be something interesting for all to see.

My wife was the one who found the guide company and the lake thru the internet. This lake is 100% guaranteed to give a fun time for a group or a family. There are airconditioned fishing bungalows too, but they were all booked up. For the price, I think it is really value for money. You can decide how involved u are in the fishing to just reeling the fish in. In this hot and humid environment, it is really tough work. My left arm was sore and my wife’s were super sore after that. I also realized that another reason for my sore arms was from holding the fish for photography.

That was some great video and pictures. I could see why your arms were so sore with all the fish you were able to catch.
    thanks for sharing.
