Yup, been seeing a few on the kid the last week. Just starting. Really don’t know why the Lord has them in the food chain, but there are alot of things I don’t understand.

During the Youth Turkey Hunt, my client and his son picked up quite a few. Some people seem to be tick magnets, and other don’t get too many. All were the tiny deer ticks. Where did the good ole’ wood tick go to?? Haven’t seen many in the last couple years

I used to think nothing of ticks, just an inconvenience of going outdoors. While walking my dog in the park by my house I picked up a tick I never even saw. I was getting out of the shower in the morning and it looked like someone spray painted the target logo on my chest. Went to the doctor and he confirmed I was exposed to lyme. I hate to think what would have happened if it was behind my knee and maybe not so noticeable. I cannot believe you can get into trouble just walking your dog in a beautiful park on a nice spring day, but you can, check yourself well.

I didn’t know you’re a turkey guide, we need you over on the hunting side!

As for the ticks, Gamehide has a tick-repellent clothing line out there that works surprisingly well. Had a chance to field-test it bear hunting last year. I’ll be wearing it all spring too just to really put it through its paces – http://www.idohunting.com/forum/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/652909/page/0/view/collapsed/sb/5/o/186/fpart/1

Funny story from yesterday. I’m sitting on the hopper and notice one crawling up my leg. I grab it and flick towards the water. But wait! I dont see it in the water! Panic ensues with me in a rather vulnerable position. Then I spot the beast crawling up lid to said fixture. Close call….
