Well, I’ve made some modifications that solve the motor tilting problem. With some help from the FW’s dad. He loves wood work and it shows. Thanks to SGT. Rock for the design idea and Farmboy1 for the carpet to cover the support.

Very nice! Varnish the heck out of it and you are in business. Looks like a professional job.

Looks good Ruger. What did you use? Looks like plywood on the bottom??

I used 2X6 for the top plate. The joints are notched out to fit two biscuits in each joint and then glued. Once they dried, we glued green treat 1/2 plywood for the bottom plate. The 1/2 is glued and screwed to the top plate with alternating joints. I was thinking I’d use 1×6 for the bottom plate, but the FW’s dad couldn’t help himself and finished the project while I was at work. He also belt sanded it smooth and routered the edges.

Not sure how you mounted the green treat to the boat, but remember the new green treat eats almost any metals. Over time the chemicals will slowly erode the metal. Put something between the green and the aluminum unless it is not going to be permanent.

Ruger, looks sweet!! You can always add a midline “down support” or two if you needed to, as well… In case you wanted a little extra “lean on me” insurance…

Now you just need to add a few fish landing lights (you can get pontoon boat lights pretty cheap at Gander) and a few extra rod holder bases and you’ll be all set!

May 20, is that when you said you were heading down there??? I have that weekend free and was trying to convince a buddy (and my wife) that I should go down for some coho action, as well as trying to figure out the tail end of the perch bite if possible. I’ll keep you posted if we end up heading that way.
