River Level Heads Up

When the water levels are on the rise and hit Flood stages or near to it, everyone seems to slow down and keep there eyes pealed for floating debris. Just a heads up, with the water levels dropping and returning to normal it is just as important to slow down some and keep them peepers watching ahead of you. While the water is dropping it is also pulling everything in with it from the islands and shorelines. There is still some big stuff cruising by the window at work here on pool 8.

To add to that, I went for a cruise on the skinny waters of the Mississippi (closer to brainerd) and found there to be some new “speed bumps” in waters even as deep as 20ft.

Croix ran backwards for a couple of days. but falling slowly for last week. Haven’t heard if they found the body of that snowmobiler from Afton. Ditto on the truck at the Hudson swing bridge. We are sending our share of deadheads down to Mississippi. Watched a huge tree last weekend try to take out a pier at Newport.
