Put the new boat in the Water

    Some asked, so here it is. For a reminder, I recently sold my 1993 Alumacraft T14 and bought a Lowe 1457. I put a Nissan 9.8 hp 4 stroke on it.

    I ran the boat for a bit and made some adjustment such as the trim tab on the motor and moved the rear seat. Boat was listing hard to the right at first. Moving the seat closer to center fixed that. Motor was pushing hard right also. Couple of adjustments on the trim tab and she ran smooth. Boats jumps up on plane real quick. Using the GPS I found I could run right at 20 mph! Surprised me. Did not figure I would break 15 with that motor. Motor idles down real nice. No vibrations. Boat ran less than 1 mph back trolling. GPS showed me doing 0 mph. Forward it kept changing between 0 and 1 at idle. Should make a nice little rig.

    Congrats Ken…there are times I wish I had a second boat like yours.
