Boat Registration online renewal

    hi i was wondering if i purchased a registration renewal online and print out the receipt, is it legal for me to fish even if i dont have the card and decals? im sure i can show the reciept for proof. looking to head out tomorrow but the DNR offices and Licensing centers arent open on Sundays. i cannot find anything about it so if you guys can give me some input that will be helpful thanks!!!

    If I recall correctly MO, when I printed my reciept out it said that I needed to wait for the sticker.

    I sent a PM to you with a number to check with for sure.

    I don’t know about where you live but in Iowa the old licence does not expire till April 30th. You are good to go untill then if it was the same for you!

    In WI you could use the receipt

    The answer is YES. Unless the law has changed in the last 3 years. I forgot to get my boat registration before going to the Rainy River 3 years ago and bought mine online and printed the receipt. The website did state that you are supposed to do so if you plan on using the boat before getting the stickers.

    I was checked by the DNR and they asked for my receipt. I showed it to him and everything was fine.

    I had to renew a 16′ in WI this year. Did so on 3/4 via internet.

    Printed off a copy of the receipt that reads right across the top of the page~

    “You are required to carry this Temporary Operating Receipt with you while operating your vehicle. This receipt is valid for up to 60 days from date payment was made or until the registration material is received.”

    Stickers arrived about a week later.

    hey thanks guys, i guess ill have to read all the fine prints if i decide to do it, or maybe ill just wait for tomorrow and head to the DNR offices just in case… i’ll give you guys a heads up on what they say but i really wanna get out there today its nice out
