Can anyone reccommend a shop that works on Suzuki outboards around the Metro area?

The motor has been in storage for 4 years. I’m not sure what needs to be done before it’s back on the water.

It was in working order when I put it away.

    Thanks…

It is a 2 stroke – fresh gas, change the lower unit lube, fresh oil in the oil tank, check the plugs – maybe change them, add grease to all zerts, check your fuel filter, change the fuel/water seperator (if you have one).

    and fire away!

seeing it has been sitting that long, i would hook up the muffs to it and get it running in the drive way first, before dumping it in the drink.

I would do what Perch described above and if still isn’t running Dan’s Southside Marine in Bloomington handles Suzuki.

little tip from the guy that works on my motor,
use a trash can full of water in place of the muffs so you know the impeller is good
he said people use the muffs at home and see water running out the pee hole from the water pressure only to get on the water and its not pumping

I’d run some seafoam in the gas to help clean up any build up that may have occurred while sitting. I actually run it all the time in all my marine engines. the directions are on the back of the can on how much to use.If your fuel tank is removable I’d dump the gas after that long and start with all new fuel as well.
