Wouldnt miss this for the world. Hoping we even get a second trip in this year. The weather sure looks great. Hope this is another tee shirt year. We came home with sunburns and sore shoulders 3 years ago.

Kooty? Who’s going to “decoy” the dnr in your place? Looks like it won’t be Jonny.

BK I already gave the local warden your description and mentioned you where a cat guy from “down south”…he sounded very excited to meet you.

Truly I am bummed I will not be able to attend this year but the woman has been training for this marathon for two years so I better not miss it. I am going to miss the Rainy Lake GTG also due to bear hunting.

    The Sturgeon are waiting,
thanks for the pic Brian, that beast (read, Whale), went 69 X 30 inches, and 97 pounds on the DNR chart, would have been a new State Record,
sure was fun, and hope to beat it this year…

    Jonny P’s Sturgeon Report<<

If you haven’t checked it out.

I feel like I’ve been slapped with the glove…the challenge is out there!

Jonny says mono will out produce braid.

I say he’s full of BS AND I’m up for the challenge!

    What say you Mister?

I say: This season I have boated 51 sturgeon, I have one rod with mono and it has caught 43 of those fish. Hard to argue with those numbers.

Dont worry Brin I spooled up two rods with mono, you can use them if you want.

Must have some walleye stink on that braid.

My bubble has been popped before…and I’ve popped some bubbles. Asking to use another person’s rod will be the equivalent of saying UNCLE.

Man I am sure getting excited for this. I will be up there with two others this year. This is all of our fist times ever fishing sturgeon, or being on the rainy in general so wish us luck. After reading all of Jonny P reports I had to go out and buy another rod and spool it up with some mono. 30 LB big cat to be exact. Can’t wait to see everyone up there.

    I hear you Steve!

Once October arrives all I think about is “IS it April yet?”

I get just as excited as I did the first year going up. It’s kinda funny. I don’t like to dance with the Favorite Wife, but I love dancing with a sturgeon!
