    what type of mud do i use for the joints on cement board in the shower? regular joint compound or some type of mastic cement…. thanks tom

    You fill the crack with thinset when setting tile. Atleast i did on my bath and kitchen remodel.

    A good tip is to cover seams with fiberglass tape, then mortar I would especially recommend it if your tiling the shower floor.

    Fiber tape all joints and cover with thinset. Be sure to have a water aproved thinset. I can’t tell you how many jobs I have repaired from home owners that used wrong thinset.

    Do not use MAstic on showers. The tiles will be raining down faster then the water from your shower head.
