    Hey gang,
I’m in a position to head to Canada this late spring. Can anyone chime in with any advice on where to go? Of course, money is always an issue. We don’t require extravagance. In fact roughing it a little would be preferred. Thanks for any help you can give.

Lac Seul is an awesome fishery. but to fish it i believe you have to go thru a resort and that can get spendy, not 100% sure on that tho.

Try a place called KRC in Kenora located on the Winnipeg River. The people that own it are from Holmen. http://www.kcrcamp.com is the link. Great fishing and GREAT FOOD.. Gloria is the best cook. (dont tell my old lady!!!) if you decide to go I can help with fishing spots..

    cpetey,

What type of trip are you looking for? American plan/housekeeping, walleye/Np or ice out lakers? Bringing your own boat or using the camp boats?

I’d rather just cook myself. It would be nice to have a cabin that was supplied with the basics. I’d prefer Eyes/Northern…perhaps some smallies. I’d be fine using their equipment, or my own. Many years ago, I took my dad up to a place called Cobblestone Lodge. It was a great time. It was pretty rustic, and we fished their outer lakes. The drives to these lakes were part of the adventure. We went in July and the fishing was great, but we held our own. I’m just looking for some other options.

Evergreen Lodge is nice, Affordable and had great, clean accomodations. Roomy 18ft rental boats says 16 in brochure but we were in 18’r with 50 fours. We brought our own food and cooked our own meals and saved a bundle. Fri thru Monday with boat/bait/gas = 95/day.
Fishing is excellent. Gary and Pat will put you on fish. Pay phone on site to keep in touch with FW. Bring a phone card.

We go every year and sometimes twice. Here are my 3 picks for the same area, we’ve stayed at all of them. Our fishing grounds are all by old logging roads, best time ever. It’s the BWCA x10! We camp at all of them, we can go for 7 days and cost us 500 bucks there and back.

    1st choice is http://www.agimacriveroutfitters.ca/

    2nd choice is http://www.agimaklake.com/Accommodations/PriceChart.htm

    3rd place is http://www.flayerslodge.ca/campsites.html
