Just caught his show tonight, have not seen it in a long time. When and how did he end up in a wheel chair?

Ted was getting ready for a Bear hunt and went to get the mail and had problems walking back to his house, I believe the problem started in his leg. went out the next day and couldn’t even walk over a log. His wife rushed back in town and got him to Denver. I believe it all has something to do with his spine. Don’t know or heard if any recovery was (or) is possible. I’ll miss his shows if he gets so bad he’ll have to stop. Amazing what this man has done and seen, he’s done things most people only dream about .

Good luck Ted if you ever see this,

Tred, with an R….Ted is the guy on the inside of the fence.

Tred Barta had undoubtedly the best outdoors show to come along in a very long time…up until this life-changing moment. Treasure your health and thank God for your blessings! One day Tred was chasing elk in the mountains and the next he lay paralyzed in a hospital. Life can change in an instant for any one of us.

I pray that Tred beats the odds, and through grace and therapy walks again. I’d love to see him make some more outdoor shows…the kind that depict real outdoor pursuit…”THE HARD WAY”. Here’s to Tred!

I enjoyed his shows. Have not seen them in a while, the guy was always wound up pretty tight. The best show, he was talking about running in the gulf so far out that he would load 55 gal drums of fuel on the deck of his center councel.

My son and I were watching this last night too and wondering what happened to him. I did not see the end to see if he ever did catch that sailfish on his #2 line.

If u go to Treds website it will tell u that he had a Spinal Stroke which is unlike a “normal” stroke in which your brian is affects your motor skills, it affects your spine and is paralyzing just the same. You lose the ability to walk Watched the program where he was catching fish in the ocean and doing it his wheelchair. WOW
