WI boat registration question

    I need to transfer my boat registration over to my name, it currently will expire the end of March. On the registration form it asks for the purchase price of the boat. I did not purchase the boat, I traded an atv for it. My question is, do I use the purchase price of the atv so I can pay the required tax our wonderful government wants or do I leave it blank? Anyone else been in this situation? Any direction here would be helpful! Thanks IDOers!

    Give it a decent guess on what the boat or four wheeler is worth….think low.

    If you traded an ATV, for a boat, motor, and trailer…..remember you only need to register the boat in WI

    Just don`t make the price so ridiculously low that it raises a red flag. ie. 2005 Alumicraft for $250.
