When my artistic juices are flowing this is what I like to do. The striped bass is going to my grandson. He caught the fish last summer with his dad. The big sunfish is mine and it was a 10 1/4 inch. I caught it when I was just a little boy with my parnets. The carving is called Swimming with the big boy. I like to air brush and brush paint the work so I can get them to look as real as possible. Hope you enjoy them.

Outstanding !!! This is a true work of art. What kind(s) of wood do you use for carving?

Way cool ! Looks like all you have to do is add water and they’d swim off !

Lund eye I like using tuplo for carving. It has not grain in it and you can carve or power carve it pretty easily. I do birds also with it. I have used pine and ceder sometimes. I just carve for the fun of it.
    thanks guys gary
