I have been out fishing quite a bit the past week or so. There have been some consistant bites over the past week that have been giving up lots of saugers and some of very resonable size!! this bite i talk of has been mentioned alot lately, “DRAGGING” i have been using 1/8 and 1/4 OZ jigs with several different plastics including green/shartruse paddle tails, white/clam ringworms, light purple, and black or dark color small ring worms. the darker colors have been working better the darker it gets and lighter while its light. witch should be the case usually. we have been draging in 18 ft and working our way shallower as the sun sets up to 9 ft.
i have also had a consistant mid day verticle jigging bite that has produced a mixture of saugers and walleyes most of witch are smaller but if you stay away from the deep deep holes you can find a few better fish.
One last bite i have found to be fairly consistant is pitching sonars mid day. this has produced some nice walleyes from depths of 18 to 8 ft of water. the color has not been a huge issue when doing this we have caught fish on black and shartruse min. between fish but i think that they are looking for a smaller profile sonar.
I have poster several pics with this report both walleyes are 24″ one caught on sonar and one dragging the cat was caught while dragging too.
good luck to yall seya out there!!
