Looking to replace my current boat cover with a new snap-on cover on a Lund 18ft Tyee.
Ernies Canvas Products in Albert lea recommends using “Aqualon”. Anybody have any thoughts on best material and whether to go with a snap-on vs full cover with tie-downs???

Thank you in advance for your thoughts

    DattaMac’s in Sioux City

    Will build custom covers

Warranty comes with it as long as you own it(it did then)

I took it back one time so far and he fix it (No charge)

Needed to have corners on windshield redone is all

Great trap Will have him do it again if I get another rig

Here is his number (877) 444-1719

You can call him to see what material he uses

I got one from him four years ago.

I love it. It is a travel cover (snap on) and saves me on gas.

If I pull my rig without it you can really tell (saves 2-3mpg)

I’ve had 3 custom snap-ons done at North County Canvas in Robbinsdale. (165 SmokerCraft, 1750 FishHawk, and 175 Alumacraft TP) Top gun material. One that is going on 5+ yrs old still looks great.

Tight fit. Great on the road. Often have comments on fit and looks at landing / gas stations and question where I got it. My second one was big reason party bought the boat I had up for sale. Heard other good things from other businesses, and I think most of them also use Top Gun. Good luck.

I had a cover made last year for my Crestliner. It was custom made and they used the Aqualon material to make it. I believe the Aqualon material is warrantied for 5 years??? Having a warranty is big when you might spend over $500 to have a custom cover made.

Suggest that you forego the Lund cover – I have a Lund Custom Cover for my 1850 Tyee and have had to replace most of the snaps more than once. Only replacement snaps that I can come up with are from China and they don’t hold up. I have seen the tarps on quite a few Lund boats that are made in Sioux Falls and would suggest that you consider them whatever material you choose.
