for those that fish both, what is your opinion of the two for walleye fishing? which one is better, or is there not a better one? regarding, quality of fish, numbers, and fishability.

(and this is strictly fishing, not taking into account Everts, ramps, etc.)

    just looking for your $.02…

Both are quality fisheries and we as fisherman are lucky to have both to chose from. They are really quite different pools.Pool 3 has a ton of wingdamns where #4 only a handfull. Generally speaking #3 really kicks in post spawn, and low flow periods, the wingdamn bite can be very good.

Pool 4 for both size and numbers. Also pool three below Prescott is straight and narrow so you get beat to death by the tuna boats in the summer.

i’ve read before that you can start looking for P3 to pick up when you smell lilac blossoms.

I agree with Dean. You can always get away from the Tuna’s on 3 as well as 4. And for me, yep, time of year has everything to do with it. Spring=P4. A lot of the rest of the year for me, P3. I love wingies. Summer, Pepin provides a great Lake bite!

Factoid: There are no fish in Pool 3. No sense in wasting your time up there. And if you believe that…
