I would look at the Fenwick Elite Tech slip bobber rod. It is 7’7″, medium tip, and good back bone. I got one last year and will be adding another this year.

I use Jason mitchell’s 8′ telescopic rod. It was designed specifically for corking. It has a medium action with a fairly soft, fast tip. It also has markings on it every foot for making precise adjustments and large guides to help prevent the bobber stop from hanging up when casting and reeling in. I really like them and for $85, you can’t go wrong!

No need for a fast action on a slip bobber rod. I use 8’6″ Berkley Series Ones, and 9′ HMX Fewicks, medium actions if I remember right.. I got all 4 of mine under $60. Any long rod with a good backbone will do, you just need it to pick up slack fast. Check out FFO, it’s a Berkley/ Pure Fishing discount place, good place to buy high end rods/reels cheap.

I’m very happy with the Float Stick that I purchased 3 years ago made by Greg Bohn Mr. Slip Bobber.

I like the Bass Pro Walleye Angler Signature series 8’6″ slipbobber rods. They are great rods that won’t break the bank either. It’s a one piece telescoping rod. Walleye Angler Rods

You might actually want 2 different styles of bobber rods.

1 for use with a braided/fireline set up, and another one to use with a straight mono set up.

Each style needs a different rod.
