can some one tell me what you mean by dragging a jig? I know vertical jigging and trolling or long lineing, but not sure what you mean by dragging,is it the same as trolling or is it pulling up steam slow?. Old fart still learning! 
Maybe I misunderstood dragging. Are they talking crank baits when they say they are dragging?

You can drag jigs upstream and downstream although a downstream drag has put more fish in my boat over 8# than the upstream drag by a huge margin.
Here’s a show we did on the technique. I could go on and on about the in’s and out’s to get you started but nothing puts more clarity on it like seeing it done.
Another tool to get you started would be an instructional DVD on the technique. As it turns out, Jason Halfen and I put one together last spring on this very subject.
