Looking at getting a pair of prescription sunglasses, not only for fishing, but daily wear, Probably Maui Jim (sp?) the question is color of tint, honestly I’d prefer grey, but it may appear brown may have a little more advanatge.

    Thoughts and opinions?

I’ve got a pair of grey Maui jims and you’d have to shoot me to take them

Love my glass Costa’s as (non-RX) sunglasses.

BTW, my Costas have the “Green Mirror” 580 glass lenses. Its green mirror (obviously) on the outside, but the inside tint is more of a dulled amber… Best sunglasses I’ve ever owned bar none!

I really like polarized amber/copper lenses, though, in sunglasses. Really helps to see into the water and get really good target definition. I would definately go with amber before grey, but that’s just my opinion…

I have had many pairs of both Amber & the Grey. I’ll give the nod to Amber. But if it comes down to “are they polarized” and one is and one isn’t, get the polarized!

Yup polarized is the only way to go Sigh, I figured amber was what the answer was going to be, I just dont like the look as much as grey, I just started shopping so we’ll see what the actual cost is going to be, before I buy a pair, I’m pretty sure it’s high

Brown protect your eyes better than grey from u-v rays. That from the lips of my optometrist.I have to agree. Also second Maui Jims.Frames are not real tough but lenses are better than any thing I have ever tried

I’ve used Costa’s for years in amber tint. They are a sight fishing machine! I see things in the water that my co-anglers can’t. I love’em!

I prefer the polarized grey tint for reduction of glare.

If you get the brown tint, the red tones will never look more red! Red really stands out. You will look at your arms or others’ and think they look sun burned.

Or you could try filling me up with Captain Morgan and I might fall a sleep.
