My understaning is that is Mon-Fri. 7am-5pm. Weekends open. Sucks if you work weekends and get your fishing in weekedays….

I’m going to check out Lillydale over lunch tomorrow.

There is a boat launch In St. Paul Park, right next to the refinery. I have never used it during the winter. not really sure if it is open though.

That access will be froze in until the water comes up a few feet.

The St.pp access has a little backwater canal connecting it to the river, usually doesn’t open up ’til a bit later.

Can that canal area be fished from shore in the spring? I’ve seen it on maps, but usually people say it is too shallow and snaggy, but that seems like a good combination in the spring?

I see kids fishing there all the time. Most of the time off that small bridge that connect the island there.

Lillydale is definatley froze up tight. The ramp has not seen a plow this year. Ice shelf out 10-15 feet.

I suppose so. It’s a narrow stretch of water that joins to Willie’s harbor. There is an island between the launch and the main channel of the river. Their is a walking bridge to the island that would allow you to fish the river and the canal area. But like Jon said the ice holds in the harbor pretty late and the canal area is about 30 feet wide and about 3 feet deep.
