Daughters are already getting bored with all the Wii hunting games. Looking for the better fishing games as they don’t have any yet. What do you have and what do you like/dislike about it??

I have Rapala fishing frenzy and its pretty good. You can catch almost any kind of fish. all sorts of bass, crappie, northern, blue gills, walleye. It is the only one I have tried though. Just my $.02 worth.

No offense meant to G Rapp but we had the Rapala game for the Wii, note the had part. My son is a die hard fisher and one of my twin girls coming up behind him is no slouch. They both thought the game stunk and it wasn’t cheap. It might have been better with the reel attachment for the controller but the little bit I played it there really wasn’t too much involved in terms of analyzing the structure etc. There were a variety of fish.
I can’t compare it to any of the other fishing games. Your choices of presentations read like a Rapala catalog and you could pick your rod and real combo. I also didn’t like the way you dealt with landing the fish.
My kids all thought it wasn’t so good and eventually my son traded it to one of his buddies for Medal of Honor.
February 22, 2010 at 4:23 pm #844842Can’t stand Rapala fishing. If you like fishing for Walleyes in lily pads with shad raps, it’s your game. Otherwise it sucks.
I have Sega Bass fishing and it’s not perfect but it’s way better than the rapala game. It’s somewhat challenging and more realistic. I really haven’t played it in all of it’s modes so I may be missing out on some features but here’s what I don’t like: The lure/color selection is poor, it doesn’t seem like you are able to drive around a lake, everything I read about it looked like you could but I can’t fisgure out how. The casting is a bit goofy at first but is better after you get used to it. My 6 yr old had some trouble but an adult will figure ut out quick.
Haven’t tried any other games. I used to have a PC bass game by EA sports and I really liked that game aside from the unrealistic multispecies action. If you could combine the EA sports and the Sega, it would be about perfect.

February 22, 2010 at 5:22 pm #844858I like the Sega Bass fishing. So does my son (7), daughter (10) and father (really, really old, like 64).
February 22, 2010 at 8:38 pm #844939Have the Rapala game and am a bass fisherman, still think it sucks. Also played the new one from bass pro with the pole, it also sucks as the reel handle is not used to battle the fish, only to drive the boat.

February 23, 2010 at 2:18 am #845069Sega Bass and Shimano Extreme are the two best games that I have found so far. If I had to choose one it would be Sega Bass fishing.
If the store is asking more than 19.99 for Sega Bass fishing, you need to look elsewhereRon

You need to go into controller setup and change it to option 2, then it reels in the fish by cranking the handle. I like the bass pro game but still think a muskie game would be cool by having to do figure 8s and stuff with the wii.
