Hopefully, this isn’t the beginning of another tragedy. If this young man is the same Craig Meyers from the West Salem area, I can tell you he comes from an outstanding family and is a good kid. I watched both he and his brother grow up in high school wrestling. I would have loved to have either one of them on our team. Good kids on or off the mat.

Please pray for his safe return and for his family.

Sad Story. Thoughts and prayers go out to the family. The Dive team has been punching holes in the ice working with a camera most of the morning. It doesn’t look like they’ve found anything yet.

I pray for their safe return home.

Is it just coincidence that a lot of male college students go missing in this general area of the mid-west?

Not really when the blood alcohol content is between .20-.42 as the article states of these “missing” men. My prayers and condolensces got out to this family during this difficult time.

This was the second one from Iowa state, police are looking at all these kids missing as being tyed together. Google “smiley faced killer” all kinds of info on this.

Bingo. The only thing “tying” them together is waaaaay to many shots.

Down Town Lacrosse is a different animal.

The river is so close and easily accessible. Why they don’t have a fence along the edge by now is beyond me?

If the City put a fence up now they would be admitting liability for the poor design of the walkway/loading ramp for the paddle wheelers that visit the city. The previous victims would be lined up around the corner at City Hall to file a wrongful death lawsuit.

I have a colleague who tried to argue this point with the Mayor. The current design has no fence and about a 4″ curb that would be a dandy tripping point for anyone (drunk or sober) into about 18 feet of moving water. The City told him they had no plans to re-do anything in the Park.
