I know there’s got to be some fish in there some place, but the family had our first family trip (since I was just a kid,35 years ago) there this past summer. It was the worst fishing I have ever experienced. As a kid we would fish out from the bait shop, try to find the weed line. I would think there would be some flow through the channel there, so be careful. There are some big crappies in there, hope they bite better in the winter than they do in the summer. As my brother and I were going around the lakes we didn’t notice any fish houses parked on shore, I said that it was strange, and I was hoping that the lack of fish houses was no indication of the population of fish.

Out the public access across from Big Mikes is where alot of people go, outside of that couldn’t tell ya. I know summer fishing is great there so I couldn’t imagine winter being entirely too awful…

It was open through most of the narrows last week. I’d stay out of there even if it is iced over.
