The Vikings should have been hoisting the Trophy.

Well I don’t think Jamal Anderson and his thighs (Falcons) won the superbowl after they beat the Vikes.

Try again next year, they didn’t win it, simple enough!!

And i’m sure many Packerfans said we should have held up the trophy that year also just not this Packer fan.

Exactly, but we didn’t. Taking a loss sucks but you get over it and look forward to the year ahead.

For these guys to say that their team would have won the superbowl if only they would have won the NFC championship is pretty dang stupid.

That said, I think the PACKERS should have been hoisting the trophy. I mean, that was totally a face mask on Rodgers in that last play of overtime. We woulda beat the cardinals, and coulda gone on to beat the saints, vikes, and eventually the colts in the superbowl!

What facemask? There was no facemask on that play. All I saw was a QB turning his head and kicking the ball to the AZ defender, clearly the fix was on, IMO.

Before opening the thread I was wagering with myself whether Big G or a Packer fan trying to rub it in started this thread. I can’t believe I was wrong on both accounts.

The Saints won it and no the Vikings shouldn’t be hoisting the trophy, because they didn’t get it done.

I’m not crying just stating the facts.

Woulda, Coulda and Shoulda aren’t facts! The fact is that the Saints beat the Vikings. Just like the Cardinals beat the Packers! And stats don’t win games either, total points scored does.

If Favre comes back the Vikings are set to make another deep run towards the Super Bowl. No guarantees of getting there, but they will be one of the elite teams in the NFC.

I love Football and have been a MN fan all my life.
    BUT
That is why they play the game.
The Vikes might win 8 out of 10 games verses the aints, but
It’s not always the most talented team that wins.
It might suck for the Vikes this year but isn’t that why we love sports and the underdog?…most of the time!

You Mn. fans are worse than NY. fans. Just give credit where credit is due. The Saints won the Championship. They beat the second best team in the NFL. There’s always next year to look forward to. So put your crying towels away and suck it up.

I know it’s a big game for all the Packer fans to constantly put the Vikings down, but as a Viking fan, I can at least feel proud that my team got to the NFC Championship game again, and lost to the eventual SB Champion.

Yes, the Vikings have lost the SB 4 times, but at least they got there, and on top of that, they got to play for the right to be in the SB 10 other times. Thats 14 times in their history that they have had a chance to go to the big show. 14 times since the SB started is an average of once every 3 years they’ve had the chance to go to the show. That is consistancy. That is why I’m a loyal fan to the team.

So you Packer fans do all you can to try to make the team look bad, say all the stupid stuff you want, but their record speaks for itself.

You can only wish your team had the same consistancy the Vikings have had.

I haven’t looked it up, but I’m pretty sure that almost every team that beat us for the right to play in the SB, won it.

lot of fail in here. the vikings have been in 10 nfc championship games (including when there was the nfl/afl)

    68,70,73,74,76,78,88,99,01,09.

they won 4 then went on to lost 4 superbowls. they lost 6. teams that beat them in the nfc championship game are 3-3.

i’m a bills fan. getting there doesn’t mean jackcrap. i could give two craps about consistency. give me a ring.

After seeing ALL these posts all I can say is you people from whatever state need to STOP your swivelling(s.p.) pull up your boot straps and get a REAL LIFE. concern yourselves with issues you actually have some control over instead of “Whinning” start laying out and going through your fishing equipment and tying the necessary “hairjigs” you may need for the river. because unlike your pathetic team you can be prepared to WIN>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

All I know for sure is that pool 2 is going to open up here soon and start yielding big fat walleyes to me again. That’s way more exciting than any football game!

P.S. Go Vikes! Bret come back!

It funny how so many fudgepackers can come on here and slam the Vikings for loosing. Funny how you guys forget you had your kicked by them twice this year.

As for chances to play for the trophy, GB has had 6 chances to play in the SB. Minnesota 14.

Since 1970, Minnesota has been the better franchise, and will be next year too.

Gotta win it to lift it! Congrats Saints. Growing up a Twins fan & Vikes fan, I never thought I would get a chance to see the Twins win a World Series. Got to see them win two. Will always hold out hope for the Vikes! Packers still stink, SKOL VIKES!

As a Packer fan, I can’t say anything negative about the Vikings. They won over the Packers twice and made it further in the playoffs. Yes I would have liked to see the Vikings go all the way. But it was Brett Favre’s favorite team that won the Superbowl. So at least it worked out for someone on the Vikings team. I hope Favre stays another season.
