The Vikings should have been hoisting the Trophy.

I think most of us agree on this board that it should be the VIKINGS hoisting the Trophy. We should have beaten the Aint’s and then we would have taken care of the Colts.

Next year will be our year – only if Farve comes back.

yep..agreed. I noticed that Manning took it pretty hard, walked off with his helmet on to hide his emotion. Must be tough to lose a game like that.

    Oh so very true.

Hopefully the Vikings were watching and learning how 2 play like a true championship team so they can increase their odds for the next season.

well then I guess they shouldn’t have had 12 men in the huddle, or what was it 6 turn overs?

by the way I thought Manning was going to cry on the spot after he threw that INT. It was GREAT!

Please stop. The Vikings are not a championship team. Championship teams do not give up 6 turnovers. Even if Favre comes back you can’t get a better season out of him than you did and you didn’t get it done. Next season they aren’t likely to dominate their own division like they did this year. The bears can only get better and the Packers will likely win at least one if not both of the games against the vikings. If Favre does retire you are right back to mediocrity almost immediately. Then add in a possible Williams retirement and now you aren’t nearly as dominant against the run and your secondary becomes a huge factor and without the middle being pushed in every play Allen isn’t near the player he was this year. Good luck, because this was the vikings year to get it done and they couldn’t do it.

Do you know how many years that Packer fans thought going to the Super Bowl was a sure thing with Brent? From 1998 to 2007 seasons.

It won’t happen. You are hanging your hat on a false prophet. He will not get you there. He just won’t. And remember, with the uncapped year coming up and the rules that go with that, the Vikings, as one of the final 8 teams in the playoffs, can not sign any free agents.

This is SO ironic that this topic was brought up. Just last night after watching the game I was reflecting on how the Vikings should of been hoisting ther 44th Lombardi trophy and how it all went wrong.

I know it’s a big game for all the Packer fans to constantly put the Vikings down, but as a Viking fan, I can at least feel proud that my team got to the NFC Championship game again, and lost to the eventual SB Champion.

Yes, the Vikings have lost the SB 4 times, but at least they got there, and on top of that, they got to play for the right to be in the SB 10 other times. Thats 14 times in their history that they have had a chance to go to the big show. 14 times since the SB started is an average of once every 3 years they’ve had the chance to go to the show. That is consistancy. That is why I’m a loyal fan to the team.

So you Packer fans do all you can to try to make the team look bad, say all the stupid stuff you want, but their record speaks for itself.

You can only wish your team had the same consistancy the Vikings have had.

I haven’t looked it up, but I’m pretty sure that almost every team that beat us for the right to play in the SB, won it.

I agree the Vikings SHOULD HAVE. But all the reasons they didn’t are their own fault. Not championship caliber. You just don’t do those things and win. This is a lot less Favre’s fault than it is the offensive line’s. The line seldom gets due credit for what they do. They also seldom get the blame they receive for the beating Favre took.

You can’t take it away from them, the Saints were the better team, two weeks ago and yesterday.

You keep enjoying consistency while Packer fans will continue to enjoy actually winning championships.

And in this case it is Viking fans making stupid statements like they should be hoisting the trophy. I will be nice and say the Queens would have had only 3 turnovers and chilly doesn’t have the coaching ability or nads of Sean Peyton. Indy would have beat the Queens. I guess you guys are blinded but you can talk all you want that the Queens are the best team, but the best teams don’t turn the ball over, and over, and over again.

Congrats to NO. They are the best team this year.

NO beat Warner, Favre and Manning in the playoffs….a combined bazillion yards passing and like a thousand TD passes….not to shabby.

Too bad the NFL doesn’t give out Superbowl trophies for effort, then maybe the Vikes would have one. Seriously though, the Vikes didn’t score the most points against the saints, so they didn’t deserve to win.

The what if’s live in the woods by the yeah buts. Oh, by the way, the best two quarterbacks in the NFL played last night, and we all ready know they’re both coming back next year.

But you were not and are not because as we all hashed over after you LOST to the Saints you were CLEARLY NOT THE BETTER TEAM BECAUSE YOU LOST THE GAME! Get over it and get ready for next year.

“Vikings should be hoisting the trophy?”
Will you please get real!!! They lost, plain and simple. 6 turnovers and a QB running for his life most of the game is not a game they “should have” or “could have” won. Get over it!
I just like the future for the Vikings….. Chilly forever (what a joke), TJ as a QB and maxing out the salary cap….. not a good way to manage a team these days. looks like GB ends up being the big dog in the NFC North now!!!!

If that is not looking through purple glasses I don’t know what is.

This not my feeling because the team that scores the most points is who wins, funny how you could replace GB with MN in 2008 and it was the same out come, even down to a int to seal the game for the other team. Giants (underdogs) went on to win the SB over the NE just like the Saints (underdogs) over INDY.

And i’m sure many Packerfans said we should have held up the trophy that year also just not this Packer fan.

Well thet can’t do that yet cause Brent hasn’t taken 3 months to decide if he’s going to retire or not.

I don’t understand why they should have been hoisting the trophy? I always thought the winner of the super bowl should get to hoist the trophy. I’m just having a hard time figuring that one out. Maybe you queen fans can talk to the league and see if they can give out trophys for losing the nfc championship game. Maybe even a interception trophy or a fumble trophy. Heck, you should get to hoist a trophy for having 12 men in the huddle.

The Saints won Superbowl because they had ZERO turnovers.
The Colts only had one turnover and it effectively ended the game.
The Vikes need to avoid turnovers to win the big games…end of story.
