go to Everts Resort site on line here and get ahold of Dean or one of his employees there they will be able to tell ya what you need to know about them. personally though i like small to medium size with bright colors, but i dont use them often though i should be…. very deadly weapon when targeting big eyes
Buy a bunch. Put in the time. There is no answer to that question. Every day’s different.

What is the best way to fish ’em –
Look for the school on the electronics and then throw ’em in there?
Vertical or can your cast an retrieve them?
Seriously, I have no clue with blade baits.

Dean does have good blades. Basically, they are very similar to the Heddon Sonars. That style has always worked well for me. Here’s a thread with some info.

I personally prefer pitching them, and working them with the current, but vertical jigging them (just a 6-18″ flick of the writst) will put a lot of fish in your boat too.

Here’s a vid from a couple years ago that has a segment towards the end of the show on casting bladebaits. It should help you get a handle for the basic concept. After that all it takes is practice.
From what ive seen whatever blade is on the end of CLWuensch’s rod is by far the best
I have found that Heddon’s work great, but they are kind of spendy.
Vertical jigging can be good at times. Seen some guys a last spring slowly trolling them up river at the confluence and catching some fish. Pitching can be good also but learning how to pitch them on the rocks can be tricky.
Order up a half dozen, hook them up on some braid and start working them. It will take a little time to get the feel of them and build confidence.
booyah bogee baits , first time a fished 1 , a got 6 lb hawg to kill it. i fish them around rip-rap
For walleye in current … one-eyed shiner.. perch or Purple hues.. they seem to get painted a little different each time so in both colors pick out the ones with the most orange on the belly…
For walleye under ice with little or light current:.. Pimples or terminaters (slightly different pimple copy).. soild silver silver and silver… and if they don’t have silver at the bait shop … again purple and also pink hues although I think you still have to go to the terminator to get the pink. I am starting to use forage minnows more… but still not ready to leave pimples
For Spotted bass… 2 1/2 inch to 3 inch Down Deep Spoons… with the large Chartreusse insert they are kind of half spoon half blade bait.
I tried out the Showdown blade baits last year. Pretty good results for a number of different species.

I just got my first couple of blades from Dean on Wednesday. One has only one hole to hook onto and the other one has 3. What does the 3 hole bait do for you.

The most common blades have 3 holes, primarily for trolling applications. For many years blades were commonly used as a crankbait for trolling. The middle hole is the most used position for casting or verticle presentations.
What is the best blade, getting back to the original post. That would be kinda like saying what is the best crankbait. There are several styles and weights available.Keep in mind, that flows as of today on Pool4 are at 9900 cfu and at Guttenberg 26000 cfu.So conditions here at present allow us to fish a much lighter blade than the downstream pools.
B-fish makes as good a blade bait you can find,in the 1/4 & 1/2 oz size. They offer proven river colors as well that will get the job done. The split VMC treble is a very expensive quality hook that pays off for big fish like the ones James landed in the video posted. We also carry a few other styles for lighter weight presentations specifically for casting shallow. I personally avoid any blade bait with split rings, they are not casting friendly IMO.
