Just wanted to post a heads up on a pretty good deal Cabela’s is running. Buy 10 or more of these cranks and they are $1.99 each. At that price I don’t mind losing a few on the wingdams! I just ordered 50!

    Producer – Double Downers.

I saw that too Jon. Heck of a deal. I had intended to add that to the thread we had going about the Hot-N-Tot replacements that were / are available out on the market. Those do look quite similar to the old ‘Tots save some minor but obvious differences.

I wonder how they run? Anyone used them?

Yes, I am taking a gamble on the running action. I should have them this week, so I’ll give them whirl this weekend (Hopefully) and let ya-all know.

Well one of the nice things about Cabelas is that if you don’t like them they’ll take them back off your hands.

Do let us know how they track. Those 1/4 ounce ‘Tots were a darn effective lure out on pepin in the summer!

Hey guys, don’t get to carried away on these. I have seen this brand (Producers) sold in many different areas in the country and they typically retail for about $1.99 apiece. So while it is a good deal it is not quite as good as it seems. I have never used these so I am unable to give any type of report on their effectiveness.

I took my box of Double Downers out and ran a few yesterday. I’m happy with the way they track on both a cast or trolled. They have that left to right kickout that the hot-n-tots have! Plus that metal lip flash. The lures ran up to about 4 MPH before blowing out, not bad.

The finish looks pretty good, but there are a few paint flaws, no biggie for me. The hooks are sharp as heck right out of the box.

I also see in another Cabela’s catalog I had laying around that they are $1.79. So, depending on your catalog you can save even more.

These will be the ticket for me next year as I can lose a half dozen in a few hours of casting the wingdams on Pool 2! Can’t wait.

Absolutely, would never run quite that fast. Well, maybe downstream with a good flow. But just as a test I gave them the gas to see! Plus, I was running upstream, so add some current speed to that. (These speeds were noted on a handheld GPS, so I’m talking SOG or speed over ground)

I’m looking forward to the Storm cranks. Especially since I’m down to 2-3 total. It’s stock up time.
