    Yup, was on the 6:30 news. 1 year deal, $1.5 million with opportunity for $700K more.

    A Minnesota team bringing in another 39 year old. Hopefully it brings the same amount of excitement the last one did!

    Incentive laden contract…base of 1.5 million and up to 750k in possible bonus…I like the threat of him coming off the bench, or using him as a DH when Kuebel plays the field….Veteran player will add a bunch to the locker room as well.

    He is also a very avid outdoorsman….Maybe he wants to fish P2 while playing here?????

    is it good to have him as another power option but it owuld of been nice to boost our infield with someone that can play d AND hit the ball!

    Wasn’t he so bad last year he hardly played?? Not sure this benefits the Twins in any way.

    I thought they had an infielder That could hit and field in Caberera????? If I remember right, he hit a HR in game 163.
    Why did they get rid if him? He hit right around 290.

    He is still available, hasn’t signed with anybody yet. Gardy isn’t real high on him apparently. He would need to play second and move Punto to third. I think that will limit the range at second to much. He may still be available if the price falls enough.

    Thome is just a gamble. The right field line is only 328 feet in the new stadium. If he has enough bat speed to pull the ball down the line it may work out. If not they will release him and eat the $1.5 million.

    You will see a different team in some aspects as they try to build the team for a new stadium. It will take a while to figure out the speed of the field and how the wind and sun plays. Also need to figure out if there is a outfield jet-stream like in the new Yankee Stadium.

    I’m with Kooty on this one.

    I thought most of his problems were coming off the bench, similar to Kubel. When he got to swing the bat every day he was fine, but asking him to do it off of 3 days of sitting around, and you were just giving the other team an out.

    What ever I was wrong , sort of, about the #4 signing so we’ll see I guess.
