Fox is pretty much reporting Favre is retiring…for now.
If NO would have just fallen on those two fumbles instead of trying to pick them up and run, the game wouldn’t have been close. I guess you can complain about the refs, but it all evens out at the end. The queens got the benefit of some horrible calls throughout the game and NO got them at the end. The better team did win.

Ill question why ther wasnt a review on the incomplete pass that was called complete to put the Saints in fieldgoal range in overtime ?????????
There was about 50 reviews on that final drive, so I can see how you missed one.
Those reviews were almost as much of a buzz kill as the final field goal.January 25, 2010 at 4:02 am #835930Quote:

If you really believe the better team won, then I have to change my thinking, that you knew a little about the game….

The Vikes had 16 games to prove they were the number 1 seed and I guess they just wanted the number 2 seed! Yes the better team won! If it wasn’t for the Vikes D, that came to play, the Vikes would’ve gotten smoked! Time to put your purple kool-aid away for another year. Back to the blacked out Viking games as everyone gets off the bus.
January 25, 2010 at 1:17 pm #835987Brent will retire…….then he’ll come out of retirement so he doesn’t have to go thru summer training He would have ran instead of throwing the interception, but his body was to sore from being hit some many times….
January 25, 2010 at 1:20 pm #835989If you think NO was the better team…. keep your green shades on…. Vikings offense and special teams gave it away…. Saints didn’t really want to take it though…. Saints better bring a better game to Miami, or the Colts and Manning will get another… Come on 2010 season

January 25, 2010 at 1:29 pm #835993What an awesome game to watch! We watched the game down in Mexico on vacation, and it was sad with the vikings fans once they lost. Nothing but horrible things to say about Brett. Like their last few quarterbacks did not have interception and fumbling issues… Bottom line, you cannot let your 40 year old QB take hit after hit as he did in this game. The interception that occurred when they were driving at the end of the game also should have been prevented by the young reciever making a play on the ball vs watching it, I believe it was Rice. For the viking fans sake, I hope Brett doesn’t come back as I don’t think you truly appreciate his love for the game, just his results. For my sake I hope he comes back because he is one hell of a fun QB to watch play the game.

Packer FanJanuary 25, 2010 at 1:49 pm #836002Let’s see…5 turnovers. Yeah, you are right the better team lost. Only one of those turnovers was “lucky”. NO caused the others. They should have had two more fumble recoveries. G, you sound like that big tub of a coach Ryan after they lost to the Dolphins spouting off about how lucky Miami was because the Jets outplayed them….so the Vikings were a better team except the offense and special teams gave it away…kind of sounds like the team that didn’t turn it over was the better team.
But what the heck. OK, the Vikings were the better team. That makes it so much better that Favre tossed that beautiful INT to cost this great Vikings team a trip to the SB. Just think, he could have ran it forever, or tossed it to the open guy in front of him on the 30 yard line. But he decided that just wasn’t going to be dramatic enough for him and decided to throw across his body and get picked. Nice call by Paul Allen too. I hope he credits Jack Buck with the “I can’t believe what I just saw” comment.

I haven’t heard a lot of people bad mouthing him. Most people are defending him. I have to agree with I wonder if he doesn’t run that last play had he not been drilled all game.January 25, 2010 at 4:04 pm #836062So let’s say Farve runs and picks up five or maybe even ten yards… Now its up to Longwell, 51 yards… or 46 or longer… Now as a Packer/Farve FAN, we saw Ryan miss a couple of those too!!!
I was mad they (Pack) got rid of him & Sharper… Oh BTW, what were they (Vikes) thinking when they got rid of Sharper???
I think G you said this in an earlier post, this is still a team game and no matter what Farve did on the last play, what about all of the fumbles… He may in part have been responsible for two of those. The first intercept. didn’t Rice see he was about to get drilled and needed to stop his route… And with a bum ankle on the Harvin fumble, he was prepping to block one of those linemen that was knocking the stuffing out of him. Then he chases the ball down and almost makes the recovery.
And Nic, Rice had no chance to play defensive back on the last intercept. Farve put that in just a plain bad spot, period!!!

January 25, 2010 at 5:34 pm #836124I like the odds on Longwell in a dome at those distances.
I hadn’t realized we lost Sharper until right around opening day. His first couple of years with us were great, but that final year he had 1 pick and was ordinary. He sure has had a good year with the Saints though.
