Tip-Up day

    Met my brother-in-law and his two kids along with a couple of buddies out on a small metro lake last week-end for some tip-up fishing. Numbers were down(considering the number of lines down), but enough action to keep the kids interested. We managed to ice 5 northerns and 3 bass. One northern was 34″ and nice and fat, and the biggest bass was 18″. We went home with 4 picklers and got to do battle with a couple of nice fish too. The kids can’t wait to do it again!

    It’s gotten to the point now that most of my ice fishing is done with my kids and flags. Great fun, and I wouldn’t give it up for the world. I’m looking forward to my next dose of kids-and-flags this weekend.
