Need an opinion(and there are no shortages here )found a used fiberglass topper, it is black, my truck is a Ford and is a burgandy color, thinking black might not look to bad, what do you guys think? Cant find one to match and my truck is 8 years old so I dont want to buy a new one.

    Check with a local Bodyshop.
They should be able to take the paint code off your truck and paint it to match.

    Exactly
It should be fairly cheap for them to paint it.

I had a black topper on a red truck. I thought it looked good. I could think of worse combos. Go for it.

Do it. I had a black topper on a white truck. Who cares, it gets the job done, it ain’t a fashion show.

My pet peeve. My OCD would never let me do it. Off to the paint shop it would go.

Pretty easy to paint. To save some $$$$, pop the windows out yourself… they are just rubber gaskets, remove the back lid. Scuff it and find a body shop, that will shoot it for $200, with your color and clearcoat. Pop the windows back in and your good to go

I would scuff it a bit, lightly prime it with a good can of spray bomb, then get 3-4 cans of burgundy ( or whatever your truck is) and spray bomb it nicely.
After all, the truck’s 8 yrs. old. And the way you drive, who’s gonna get close enough to check out the paint job on your topper ?
