I will be there, went last year as well. Probably going early to fish on my own a day or two.
For those wondering about equipment, reference the discussions on Eric’s website listed below. In general, you should have med action rods, 6-8# fluorocarbon leaders and #8 Octopus or egg style hooks. May want to bring some small jigs and plastics (white). Don’t really need a depth finder, I’m leaving mine at home.

2010 Brown Trout Ice Fishing School

Franklin, WI 53132Friday Class Room —–Come learn how to catch Big Brown Trout and Steelhead with Guide Eric Haataja of Big Fish Guide Service and several other guides. Eric will be offering a 3-4 hour seminar / classroom Friday night at Gander mountain Starting at 6 PM. This seminar is the most detailed Ice Fishing school available for trout. Eric goes over many different techniques, spots to fish that consistently produce huge trout. I will specifically go over detailed info/specific tackle etc.. used to catch these big fish.

Saturday on Ice with Eric and other guides…. Eric will fish with you and other groups for 8 hours. Eric and his other guides will be on the ice with you showing, teaching, and answering all questions that will help you catch a bunch of these bruisers! This event is a school / seminar and guide trip combined with Eric and his guides.
The class will be specially catered towards catching big browns and steelhead through the ice. Informing you how to set up your baits, tackle, and what types of rods, line and lures to use. Eric and his guides will specifically go threw all the details of what how and where to get these fish both on and off the ice. It does not matter if your new to ice fishing or a seasoned veteran, trout fishing is totally different to any other ice fishing available in Wisconsin and Eric is the only full time Guide that specifically chases trout all winter.

All reservations are first come first serve. Cost is 175.00 per person. Some Ice shelters and limited tackle and bait is available.
These are the hardest fighting fish you’ll ever get to battle through the ice in Wisconsin!
There will also be be some Free product handouts given during the class.
Space is limited to approx 30 students.

Just to clarify – this includes the Great Lakes Stamp with the 2 day.There’s a $14 Two-day Sports fishing license for residents and nonresidents— This license entitles a resident or nonresident to fish the outlying waters of Lake Superior, Lake Michigan, and Green Bay, as well as Lake Michigan and Green Bay tributaries upstream to the first dam or lake.
