Does anyone know if Berkley is going to replace the HT Solar line with another Hi-Vis line? I checked at Cabels’s and they said Berkley has quit making it. Any opinion on any other replacement lines would be appreciated.

Isn’t Sensation a Berkley line? I have that in high vis green. Iron Silk is available in Hi Vis as well, but I don’t like that line too much.

yup… the Kids right. Sensation is essentialy a replacement for XT Solar. Some guys on here have used it… and they seem to like it. I tried the Iron Silk too… and didn’t like it that much. Performed crappy in colder weather.

The solar color Sensation gets the nod from me . I have been useing the 8lb test, 6lb diameter since I have not been able to get my hands on the solar XT. The only down side to this line is the abrasion resistance, it is not as good as the XT was and I find my self having to re-tie more frequently than I did with the XT. Lost a couple of big fish this year and found that out the hard way unfortunately . Anytime you get a walleye hooked in the back of the mouth, those teeth will put little nicks in you line making it weak.

As for Iron Silk? Don’t even waste your money! To stiff and no sensitivity .

I’m with Dustin 100% on that point.
Sensation HI Vis green is very tough to get East of the River. The Bass Pro, Gander Mt,and Cabelas hereabouts has not seen any in HI Vis yet. I got a website from from one of the guys here several weeks ago and got some spools of 6# and 8# out of Florida.
I fished the river in very cold weather in November with Jarrad and the line was very impressive. I have a petty good supply of XT left over and will keep it under guard now.

One thing I like about Sensation is that if you use the right knot, it holds. Good strength and I’ve even been able to save the occasional hook from snags. The right knot… oddly, is a trilene for me. I think that does the trick and Sensation seems to hold it better than a lot of the lines. It’s good and flexible. Definitely my line this year.

You don’t need any contacts in FL. Just tell me what you’re after and I’ll look where I normally get mine and make sure they have it. I’ll contact you and if you haven’t found another source, I’ll pick some up and we’ll make the arrangements.

Noel, Call this phone number and ask for Angler Services,1-877-777-3850. This is the phone number for Pure fishing that I got from their site while looking for info on this product. Oddly enough, not many retailers sell it or even know it exists . The above phone number is where I have been ordering the line if it is out of stock at the Rochester Mills Fleet Farm. Mills is the only retail sporting goods store I have found this line. Bass Pro, Cabelas and Gander MT. don’t stock it as of yet. Why? I don’t know . They’ll get on the band wagon sometime in the future hopefully. The line does cost a bit more ordering it direct like this but at least a guy is able to get it
