Heck it puts a smile on my face!

For those of you that didn’t make it to the Get Together last summmer. Redneck’s family surprised him with a brand spanking new kicker motor for his boat.

How can you NOT have a smile on your face with a family like that!

    OR

I was looking for the lyrics to the song: O Lutefisk, O Lutefisk
I was tired of just the song.

I found the site searching Google about the time FTR and FTL were changing over to IDA. I spent a lot of time lurking on this site and other MN sites. Then I went to the smallie GTG on the pond, met some really nice people. After that I knew that I wanted to stop lurking and be part of the family.
As for the name: I am a huge fan of Charlie Brewers Sliders (paddletails). Any one that has fished with me knows that I always have one tied on.
I now have to see how the BfishN paddletail compare.

I found IDA on the side of an old Suburban. Three years ago, my Dad and I were out fall fishing on Mille Lacs. We came off the water at 2 am and started packing up the boat. Some guy comes up to us and starts showing us pictures of giant walleyes on his digital camera. He was a nice guy and he even told us how he caught them. As the Suburban with Crestliner in tow pulled away, I read the FTR sticker on the side. I looked it up when I got home and I have been hooked ever since.
I came to find out later the person I met was the founder himself.

This same guy threw me a email when I was a member of a competitor’s site and said……”Come play over here…its better here!”
Not wanting to play for both teams I did a little digging and said….You bet! Been here since the very begining and proud of it!

And since your house is now made out of plastics…I’m guessing that would be one heck of a fire!

Somehow I missed this topic last Fall.
It’s really has been a very long time since I joined up, that I don’t remember how I first heard of it.
It is hard to find any other active members with a Member No. under 100….
The site is terrific, and well managed..
I call it a family of friends, and some friends I haven’t met yet.
    Thanks All.

Hey Jack, There are still a few of the old timers around…JonJ, Kooty, and Plantz are all in the 30’s…

I don’t post a lot, but I read almost everyday. I found this site after finding something very similar and thinking “wonder if there is something better out there”…well there certainly was and it seems to get better with age

Found this site from a magazine article, though I can’t remember the mag or article. Might have been one on Dezurik’s river tactics on pool 2, its the only one that comes to mind.

I used to be part of another website staff and I got an email from this Holst guy one day. He asked if I would be interested in coming over to the “good side” and work for them? His sales pitch worked!

I passed him (Holst) many a time on the River and wondered who that was that would drive his Yarcraft standing up? Then I started seeing him fishing tournaments on Pool 4 and started talking to him about fishing and other stuff..
It seems our goals were pretty much running the same lines. And the rest is history.
Sure is nice not fishing against him anymore!

I was looking for a Used Ice depth finder for my wife and a fishing friend told me about one on here. Once I got that marcum from Scott Steil I started seeing all of the other information on the site and signed up. Great site for all information.

Working for the local phone company, I would see the stickers on boats & trucks all round the metro for a couple of years. So this spring I finally went on there & have missed a day checking it since.

How did I find this site?

Well, on my way home one day I was behind a Red 1/2 Ton Chevy Pickup with a large In-Depth Angling sticker in the rear window.

Actually I have been behind this fellow a few times to and from work.

If you live just west of St. Boni in Meadowview Meadows then you know who you are.

I’ll let him identify himself if he wishes to. But he has been here for awhile!

When I first moved to Shakopee about 6 years ago I wanted to fish the MN river…..so I typed “fish the river MN” in the search box and I came up with two sites. Fishing the River or fish the river dot com and “the other one”.
I think this site used to be fishtheriver or fishingtheriver. I recently was reading a Miss Cat thread on this site and finally decided to chime in, and to my surprise I had registed back in 01 or something like that.

Sure is fun to look back at some of those first posts

    Bringing up an old post.

I’m wondering if “word of mouth” is still top of the list?
