To make a long story short, the fish are always biting on this site. I call it fishin the site. Its my
fishin addiction outside of my boat. One of these days I’ll be able to afford a laptop then I can do both at the same time. Just need a real long phone jack then to plug in my laptop.
    Thanks, Bill

I found this site, by looking for fishing reports for LOTW in 99. I came accross the reports for the river and found it to be very interesting.

I would causually pull it up about once a month to get some basic info, just on the “Entrance” page. Never went further.

Then I found the classifieds on the “old” style page. Ended up buying a great 85hp merc for a mere $400. The motor runs GREAT to this day!!!

Then, I started browsing around, got hooked on the forums.

Today, all I can say is that this site is cool. There are others, but none as good as this. There are so many good people on this site, sharing and caring.

The staff has a lot to be proud of.

I’ve learned a lot about river fishing since I started coming here. I grew up in the outskirts of Hastings and never really fished the river all that much. Always thought that the fish were glowing with 3 eyes from all the polution and that it was never comparable to “lake” fishing.

WOW!!! Was I wrong and did I ever miss out for how many years!!!

Today, I’ve learned how to fish plastics and how to fish the river. All thanks to this site.

Good job and keep it up!!!

Bill and Still (now that’s kinda neat isn’t it!)

The problem with taking a laptop with a cell phone for the modem is, what do you do first? Net the “big one” or internet the ‘big one”?

It’s like the old chicken – egg question….

Help me out guys. This isn’t the way I thought this poll would go. So far, clearly most people heard about this site from a fishing buddy. So, where did the fishing buddy hear about it? Maybe they just haven’t taken the poll yet?
Did James talk to ALL of those people?

Actually Bob, you gave me two thoughts. One is that the IDA Pro Staff would talk about the site to all of their customers…that may explain it…

And two… I need to get out more!

hey Yoda, you don’t drive a faster then heck milk truck do ya with all the bells and whistles to go with it? lol No need to bring your 357 when you come here again because you can’t shoot fish in a barrel here, but it would be fun watching.

3000 ft of wire might work if I can figure out how to plug it in Steve Vicks phone jack without him knowing about it then I can fish below the dam and read the fishing reports while fishing to make sure I’m doing it right. You know, right color ringworm, superdoo, etc. And then I know when Dusty and Mike Little are out so I can just follow them casting the shoreline behind them as Mike always fishes for Sheepies which means he misses the walleyes so I get them. Just make sure sure nobody describes what a walleye looks like here on the site to Mike as I don’t want him to change species on me.
    Thanks, Bill

As to how I found the site, I heard about it from a friend. So I went and spent 1100.00 on a computer just to get to the site. In fact, I was so green on computers that if the salesman would of told me that the computer came with a mouse I probably would of bought a mouse trap before I opened the box.
    Thanks, Bill

You wouldn’t believe some of the problems I had with posting pics. Of course a photo software that worked good would of helped. Poor James, Ecnook and Jon J. still probably have nightmares over the hassle of trying to help me. Once James got me some software that worked then it became much more easier. One time I had to get rid of alot of cookies etc on my computer as it was sick and that was a hassle too. But we all learn over a period of trial and error. Some of us just have alot more error than trial thats all. But it does get better.
    Thanks, Bill

Hey Bill, I know what you mean about problems, we just changed to another server here in town and the guy who installed the new cable had to send a specialist over to load a program on to our pc that got rid of all the cookies, it was totally choke up with the tracking cookies and our pc was almost running in reverse. This guy then did what the cable installers had to do. This specialist then healed our pc, what a present for free! Sick gismo’s i guess and were still learning after having it for 3 years and people tell me thats normal. I’d have a hard time not having my pc around.

All right. Who’s bringing up my name in vain? I CAN catch walleye. They like the red snowsuit. Jump into the boat when I’m wearing it.

Sometimes, though, there are other things that climb into the boat, too. Like to see you guys handle a sheepie the way I do. Please note that all fish are released ‘cept those that’s et.

Not a staged picture, either, Brian. I was just hungry.

And Bobber, I’m gonna quit the cigars except when I’m in your boat. Or fishhouse. Actually, a good rum-soaked cigar in an ice house makes for a pleasant smell.

Even ended up making a great friend out of the deal. Just darn “into stuff” if you know what I mean?… lol

With all the new member signing up on IDA, I thought I would bring this old post back to the top.

Looks like “word of mouth” is the best advertising as normal!
