Happy Holidays-Pool 8 ice report

I really hate to ice fish in the rain but hey, cant catch them sitting in the lazy boy. Well I am glad I went nobody out and the fish were on the chew. Target was deep water crappie,gills and Largemouth bass. Did ok in the early am but got really good when the heavy rain came. My best fish came in 12 fow using a Cecil and a waxie. Only kept enough for a nice Christmas meal for the family. I hope that everyone has a Very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year…

That is a nice creel, crappie an gill. That 9″ gill is something to write home about. But why in the heck did you bring that stinkin bass home.

Fished a pool 9 backwater yesterday A.M. that had been producing fish last week, many 8 inch gills. Yesterday was terrible. My daughter caught 3 4inch giils and I caught 1 6 inch. All lived to bite another day. We marked very few fish with the Vexilar. Nobody else caught much either although there were few out.
